Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the American sweetheart after she was crowned American Idol in the first season. The win not only catapulted her to fame however, it also secured her a multi-album recording contract with RCA Records 19 Recordings and 'S Records. Since then, she's released many studio albums, including three which topped the US Billboard 200' chart and the rest of her albums just missed the coveted spot. She is among the most well-known artists that made it through American Idol. She started to explore themes and music when her popularity grew. With her distinct voice and unique talent, she has received critical acclaim as well as a variety of prizes. One of her most memorable achievements is that she won the Grammy Award three times. Music isn't the only thing she is involved in. Her appearances in television and film. She is also the author of the children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been a part of various charities.
