Lee Roy Selmon's story combines family football scholarships and community service. The first time Selmon was brought up by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on a farm near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the eldest of the nine children they had. Two football. He is one of the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was an All-Star for the whole 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. Also, they won the national title twice. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week of volunteer time in college. He settled down in Tampa after graduation, and played with the Buccaneers for a period of nine years, and made three times all-pro. His career in business began. He was an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6-2. While he was in for college, he was the head coach of the team of 1975. In 1993, he was a part of at the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. The College Football Hall of Fame named the player as a member in the year the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1995, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor who presented this award.
